Ingredients
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
1 cup packed brown sugar
½ cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips or chunks
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Cream softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in eggs one at a time. Add vanilla extract and mix.
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients until a soft dough forms.
Fold in chocolate chips.
Chill dough for at least 30 minutes.
Scoop dough onto lined baking sheets, spacing 2 inches apart.
Bake 10–12 minutes until edges are golden and centers are set.
Let cool 5 minutes on sheet, then transfer to a wire rack.
