Description

This Garlic Noodles Vietnamese recipe blends Vietnamese and Western flavors for a quick, flavorful, and customizable comfort food.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 20 oz fresh egg noodles (or spaghetti)
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 5 garlic cloves, finely minced
  • 1 tbsp fish sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • ¼ cup chopped scallions or chives
  • ½ tsp coarse ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Cook noodles: Boil egg noodles for 2–3 minutes (or spaghetti per package). Rinse under cold water and toss with oil.
  2. Make sauce: Melt butter in a large skillet, sauté garlic for 30 seconds until aromatic.
  3. Add sugar, fish sauce, and oyster sauce. Simmer for 1 minute.
  4. Combine: Add noodles to the sauce and toss until coated.
  5. Stir in scallions and pepper. Serve hot.

Notes

Avoid overcooking garlic to prevent bitterness. Use fresh egg noodles for best results. Add shrimp or chicken for extra protein.
