- Lime wheel or lime shell (for garnish)
- Crushed ice
Instructions
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
- Add aged rum, lime juice, orange curaçao, orgeat syrup, and optional simple syrup.
- Shake well until the outside of the shaker feels cold.
- Strain into a short glass filled with crushed ice.
- Float dark rum gently on top using the back of a spoon.
- Garnish with a mint sprig, lime wheel, and/or lime shell.
- Serve immediately and enjoy.
Notes
For authenticity, always use fresh lime juice and quality rum. Orgeat syrup is essential for the nutty depth substitute with amaretto only if necessary.
