Description
Old Bay seasoning shrimp boil recipe is a bold, easy one-pot recipe with shrimp, sausage, corn, and garlic butter, perfect for weeknight meals or parties.
Ingredients
1 lb large shrimp (peeled and deveined)
12 oz smoked sausage (sliced)
1 lb baby potatoes
4 ears corn on the cob (cut into halves)
1 lemon (sliced)
6 garlic cloves (smashed)
3 tbsp Old Bay seasoning
2 bay leaves
Salt (to taste)
4 tbsp unsalted butter
1 small onion (diced)
1 tsp brown sugar (optional)
Fresh parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
In a large stockpot, fill with water and add garlic, lemon slices, bay leaves, salt, and 2 tbsp Old Bay. Bring to a boil.
Add baby potatoes and cook for 10 minutes.
Add corn and sausage, cook for 5 minutes.
Add shrimp and boil 2–3 minutes until pink and cooked through.
Drain and set aside, reserving 1–2 cups broth.
In a pan, melt butter and sauté onion and garlic.
Add reserved broth, 1 tbsp Old Bay, and brown sugar. Simmer 5 minutes.
Pour sauce over boiled mix and toss to coat.
Garnish with parsley and serve warm.
Notes
For extra spice, add Cajun seasoning or hot sauce.
To elevate the recipe, include crab legs or clams.
Serve on parchment or butcher paper for a classic seafood boil presentation.
