Description
Rich, garlicky, and full of umami, these Thanh Long garlic noodles recipe blend Vietnamese-American flavors in a bold, comforting, and unforgettable dish.
Ingredients
Scale
- ½ tsp, Ground black pepper
- 12 oz, Fresh egg noodles (or use spaghetti if needed)
- 5 tbsp, Unsalted butter
- 6 cloves, Garlic, finely minced
- 1 tbsp, Oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp, Soy sauce
- 1 tsp, Fish sauce (optional but adds extra depth)
- 1 tsp, Sugar
- ¼ cup, Grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp, Chopped scallions (for garnish)
Instructions
- Noodles should be cooked by boiling them as directed on the package until they are al dente. After draining, set away.
- To make the sauce, melt the butter in a big skillet over a medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds, or until fragrant.
- Add Sauces: Stir in the oyster sauce, soy sauce, fish sauce, and sugar. To blend the flavors, thoroughly mix and simmer for one minute.
- Combine Noodles and Sauce: Add the cooked noodles to the skillet. Toss them in the sauce until they’re evenly coated and heated through.
- Finish with Cheese: Sprinkle grated Parmesan over the noodles and toss again to combine.
- Garnish and Serve: Serve right away after garnishing with chopped scallions.
Notes
Use fresh garlic and quality sauces for best flavor. Don’t overcook garlic to avoid bitterness. Spaghetti or linguine can substitute egg noodles. For a vegetarian version, use mushroom sauce instead of oyster/fish sauce.
